WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

A chemical peel is a controlled exfoliation treatment designed to accelerate skin cell turnover and improve overall skin function.

Using clinically formulated alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), chemical peels work to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing for more efficient shedding of the outermost layer. This process helps to decongest pores, refine texture, and support the skin’s natural renewal cycle.

When performed professionally and tailored to your skin type, chemical peels can improve tone and clarity, soften the appearance of fine lines, and promote a smoother, more even complexion—with minimal downtime depending on the depth of treatment.

At YouthBar, all peels are selected and customized based on your skin physiology to ensure safe, consistent, and clinically appropriate results.

Chemical Peel FAQ’s

  • Our peels have been innovatively formulated to offer progressive results throughout multiple treatments, which means minimial downtime for some.

Furthermore you will receive a Post Procedure Kit that will keep the skin protected, hydrated and nourished in the hours and days after your treatment.

  • Because of the lack of safety studies on the impact of a peel on the skin and body during pregnancy, it’s industry standard that pregnant and breastfeeding people do not have chemical peels. But do ask your skin pro what alternative treatments they may offer.

  • We recommend retinoids and active acids (AHAs, BHAs) are stopped 5-7 days prior to a professional chemical peel treatment. In addition, these types of ingredients are usually not re-introduced until 1 week post procedure, or as advised by a skincare professional.

  • Most clients will notice an improvement in skin clarity, texture, and overall radiance after a single chemical peel. However, one treatment typically delivers a surface-level refresh, not a full correction.

For concerns such as pigmentation, acne, fine lines, or textural irregularities, a series of treatments is recommended. Chemical peels work cumulatively—each treatment builds on the last to create more consistent, longer-term changes in the skin.

Your provider will recommend a treatment plan based on your skin goals, condition, and tolerance to ensure results are achieved safely and effectively.
